Paul Ryan, the running mate of Mitt Romney, the Republican Party nominee for the United States President in 2012, has strongly supported Romney’s tax reform plan that was described in an earlier issue of The Garlic. The revolutionary overhaul of the American personal tax plan labelled as the “American Destiny” blueprint for America under his presidency, Governor Romney noted that his plan will ensure that people pay for the government services that they use.
The plan announced by the Governor will dramatically change the personal tax rates so that all people earning less than $10,000 per annum and using most government services will pay 50% income tax, people earning more than $10,000 but below $50,000 will pay 30% income tax while those earning more than $50,000 but below $200,000 will pay 20% tax. People earning more than $200,000 will pay 10% tax on their income while anyone making more than $1,000,000 will no longer pay any income tax.
Governor Romney stated that the primary purpose of revising the tax plan was to increase the number of jobs created in the USA. He noted that it is the wealthy people who create jobs and that is why they should not be required to pay any tax.
