The Republican Party has made it abundantly clear that Mitt Romney isn’t one of them. The primary reason for this is that Mitt Romney is a businessman who is interested in making money. Although making money is fine in the Republican Party, Romney lacks conviction. He is willing to set aside his instincts in favor of cold-blooded calculation and analysis. GOP likes people like Rick Santorum for whom convictions and instincts are everything. Santorum lacks any understanding of logic and he cannot set aside his instincts in favor of cold-blooded calculation and analysis. The Republican Party and the Tea Party love that kind of candidate. Rick Santorum believes in what GOP thinks it believes in.
For the Republican Party, Barack Obama is the real enemy. He is an educated man who does not have religious convictions and instincts. They in fact cannot think of a candidate that would be worse than Obama but Mitt Romney comes close.
