The world was excited about the transition of Venus across the Sun. Venus appeared as a dot crossing the face of the Sun in a rare orbital alignment that won’t occur again for another century. The next Venus transition will be in 2117, 105 years from now. That is the main reason why so many people were excited. However, it appears that no one else in the whole solar system cared about this event.

Reporters from thegarlic have been trying to explore the reaction of the rest of the solar system about the transition. The Sun does not really care about the Venus transition since Venus is like an ant to the sun. The sun is about 1.4 million kilometers in diameter compared to the 12,104 km diameter of Venus. The sun is therefore about 113 times bigger in diameter and perhaps more than a million times bigger in volume. The sun has so many planets and meteors floating around that the planet Venus transitioning as seen from the Earth is of no interest to it.  Mercury could not be bothered with Venus since it is always concerned that the Sun might gobble it up. Although Venus may be considered a big neighbor, since it is three times bigger in diameter and perhaps 25 times bigger in volume, Mercury is preoccupied with its humongous neighbor the Sun and Mercury cannot even see the transition. Mercury is fuming and upset because of the attention given to Venus and no one appears to care for it. Other planets like Mars are totally uninterested as they cannot see the transition, it is too far away, and they are actually more concerned with the Earth and what may be coming their way next, probe anyone!

Bigger planets further from Venus, for example, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, don’t care about the Venus transition because these planets are far too cold and are jealous of Venus’ proximity to the Sun and warmth. Pluto on the other hand is still sulking and was unavailable for comment.
